This Privacy Policy describes how NovaPulse Wi-Fi Scope (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our mobile application on Android. The App is published by Vasa Serafin.
On-device scan. Nearby SSIDs, BSSIDs, RSSI (dBm), frequency, and channel are read from the Android Wi-Fi scan on this device. We do not operate a scan or telemetry server. Use only on networks you own or have explicit written permission to test.
Summary
- We do not sell your personal information.
- On-device first. The live nearby list is built on your phone from Android scan results. We do not collect those results.
- No cloud AI or machine learning. Quality labels and channel mapping are local.
- Local data stays local. Scan results are shown in memory for this session. Uninstalling removes app storage.
Information we process
- Nearby Wi-Fi scan results — SSID, BSSID, RSSI, frequency, channel, band, and whether the phone is connected to that BSSID. Used only to draw the on-screen list. Not uploaded to us.
- Approximate location (Android Wi-Fi scan) — Android requires location permission (and on Android 13+,
NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES) to return nearby Wi-Fi results. We use that permission only so the scan API will return results. We do not store GPS tracks or upload location.
- Purchase status — Google Play confirms No Ads (INAPP
com.vasaserafin.wifiscope.noads queried also as SUBS, or extra SUBS com.vasaserafin.wifiscope.noadssub). We store a local entitlement flag only.
- Advertising (Lite only) — Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data per Google’s Privacy Policy. A banner may show on the live list. A full-screen ad may show once on first open and after every 5th successful scan. UMP consent is requested before ads.
- Network access — the App uses INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE to load Lite ads. ACCESS_WIFI_STATE and CHANGE_WIFI_STATE start a local scan. Scan results are not sent to us.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not upload your SSIDs, BSSIDs, RSSI values, or location to our servers.
- We do not require a cloud account to scan.
- We do not store GPS tracks.
- We do not record audio or use the microphone.
- We do not operate a Wi-Fi survey or heatmap service (that is a different app).
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
- Contract — providing the live nearby list and ads-free features you request.
- Consent — personalized ads in Lite where required (Google UMP); location / nearby-Wi-Fi permission you grant so Android can return scan results.
Retention and deletion
Scan results are shown for the current session and are not uploaded. Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage removes the local entitlement flag and interstitial cadence file. Ad partners and the Play Store may retain purchase or ad data under their own policies.
Your rights
Depending on your region you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data. Because scan results stay on the device, deletion is typically achieved by uninstalling or clearing app data. Contact vasa_serafin@hotmail.com.
