This Privacy Policy describes how NovaPulse Whois Lookup (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our mobile application on Android. The App is published by Vasa Serafin.
On-device WHOIS parse. Domain names, pasted WHOIS text, parsed registrar/expiry fields, the last-20 lookup cache, and the ads-free watchlist are processed on the device. We do not operate a WHOIS or telemetry server. Use only on domains you operate or have a lawful reason to investigate.
Summary
- We do not sell your personal information.
- On-device first. Live lookups go from your phone to public WHOIS servers (IANA, then the referred registry) over TCP 43. We do not collect query results.
- No cloud AI or machine learning. Field parsing and the expiry countdown are local. Paste and sample parse work offline.
- Local data stays local. Lookup cache (last 20), watchlist, alert ledger, and settings live in the app until you clear them or uninstall. Uninstalling removes app storage.
Information we process
- Lookup configuration — the domain you enter and any raw WHOIS text you paste. Stored on-device. Not uploaded to us.
- Answers, cache, and watchlist — registrar, dates, contacts, nameservers, status, source server, and expiry countdown. Last 20 lookups persist in on-device storage so they survive app kill. Ads-free / Pro watchlist and expiry-alert flags stay on-device. Not uploaded to us.
- Expiry notifications (ads-free / Pro) — if you enable alerts, the App schedules a local 12-hour check and may show a device notification when a watched domain is inside 30 days of expiry or already expired. POST_NOTIFICATIONS is requested only when you turn alerts on. We do not send those notices from a server.
- Network access — the App uses INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE to query public WHOIS servers for names you look up and, on Lite, to load ads. Paste and sample parse do not require a network.
- Purchase status — Google Play confirms No Ads (INAPP
com.vasaserafin.whois.noads or SUBS com.vasaserafin.whois.noadssub). Legacy entitlement com.vasaserafin.whois.adsfree still entitles if present. We store a local entitlement flag only.
- Advertising (Lite only) — Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data per Google’s Privacy Policy. A banner may show on every tab. A full-screen ad may show once on first open and after every 5th live lookup. Paste and sample parse do not trigger ads. UMP consent is requested before ads.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not upload your domains, WHOIS text, cache, watchlist, or alert ledger to our servers.
- We do not require a cloud account to look up or paste records.
- We do not use location or microphone permissions.
- We do not harvest WHOIS contacts. Do not use the App to collect contacts for spam, harassment, or sale.
- We do not operate a WHOIS service of our own.
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
- Contract — providing WHOIS lookup and ads-free features you request.
- Consent — personalized ads in Lite where required (Google UMP); optional expiry notifications on ads-free / Pro.
Retention and deletion
Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage removes the local lookup cache, watchlist, alert ledger, and the entitlement flag. Ad partners and the Play Store may retain purchase or ad data under their own policies. Public WHOIS servers you query (IANA and referred registries) may log the query under their own policies.
Your rights
Depending on your region you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data. Because lookup data is stored locally, deletion is typically achieved by uninstalling or clearing app data. Contact vasa_serafin@hotmail.com.
California residents: we do not “sell” or “share” personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
