This Privacy Policy describes how Secure Notes (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our mobile application on Android. The App is published by Vasa Serafin.
On-device encrypted notes. Titles and markdown you type are sealed on this phone with AES-256-GCM. The key stays in the Android Keystore. We do not operate a notes, sync, or backup server.
Summary
- We do not sell your personal information.
- On-device first. Encrypt, decrypt, list, edit, and delete run on your phone without our servers.
- No cloud AI or machine learning.
- Local data stays local. Uninstalling or clearing app storage removes the sealed note file. We cannot recover it.
Information we process
- Notes you type — a title and markdown body you add, edit, or delete. Stored as one sealed file in app storage (
notes.gcm). Not uploaded to us.
- Encryption key — an AES-256 key created in the Android Keystore on this device. The raw key does not leave the Keystore. We do not hold a copy and cannot decrypt your notes.
- Purchase status — Google Play confirms No Ads (INAPP
com.vasaserafin.secnotes.noads queried INAPP+SUBS, or extra SUBS com.vasaserafin.secnotes.noadssub). We store a local entitlement flag only.
- Advertising (Lite only) — Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data per Google’s Privacy Policy. A banner may show on the note list and Settings. A full-screen ad may show on first open and after every 5 note saves or deletes. UMP consent is requested before ads.
- Network access — the App uses INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE to load Lite ads. It does not send note titles, bodies, or the sealed file to us.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not upload your notes or encryption key to our servers.
- We do not require a cloud account to write a note.
- We do not sync, export, or attach files in this version.
- We do not include app storage in Android backup.
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
- Contract — providing on-device encrypted notes and ads-free features you request.
- Consent — personalized ads in Lite where required (Google UMP).
Retention and deletion
Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage removes the sealed note file and the local entitlement flag. Because the key lives in the Android Keystore on this device, we cannot restore notes after uninstall, a device reset, or a cleared Keystore. Ad partners and the Play Store may retain purchase or ad data under their own policies.
Your rights
Depending on your region you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data. Local deletion is typically achieved by deleting a note in the App, uninstalling, or clearing app data. We cannot decrypt notes for you. Contact vasa_serafin@hotmail.com.
