This Privacy Policy describes how NovaPulse LAN Finder (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our mobile application on Android. The App is published by Vasa Serafin.
On-device LAN list. Hostnames, IPs, MACs when Android exposes them, mDNS/NSD advertisements, neighbour-table rows, and /24 reachability results are built on this device. We do not operate a scan or telemetry server. Use only on networks you own or have explicit written permission to test.
Summary
- We do not sell your personal information.
- On-device first. The LAN host list is built on your phone from mDNS/NSD, the kernel neighbour table when readable without root, this phone, gateway/DNS, and RFC1918 /24 probes. We do not collect those results.
- No cloud AI or machine learning. Merge, sort, and labels are local.
- Local data stays local. Scan results are shown in memory for this session. Uninstalling removes app storage.
Information we process
- LAN host list — IPv4 addresses, hostnames from mDNS/NSD, MAC addresses when the neighbour table exposes them, source labels (this phone, gateway, DNS, mDNS, neighbour, reachable), and advertised service types. Used only to draw the on-screen list. Not uploaded to us.
- Approximate location (Android nearby / Wi-Fi APIs) — Android requires location permission (and on Android 13+,
NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES) to return nearby-device and related Wi-Fi data. We use that permission only so those APIs will return results. We do not store GPS tracks or upload location. NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES is requested with neverForLocation.
- Purchase status — Google Play confirms No Ads (INAPP
com.vasaserafin.lanfinder.noads queried also as SUBS, or extra SUBS com.vasaserafin.lanfinder.noadssub). We store a local entitlement flag only.
- Advertising (Lite only) — Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data per Google’s Privacy Policy. A banner may show on the device list. A full-screen ad may show once on first open and after every 5th successful scan. UMP consent is requested before ads.
- Network access — the App uses INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE to load Lite ads. ACCESS_WIFI_STATE and CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE support mDNS/NSD and the local list. Cellular WAN is never scanned. Host results are not sent to us.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not upload your hostnames, IPs, MAC addresses, or location to our servers.
- We do not require a cloud account to list LAN hosts.
- We do not store GPS tracks.
- We do not record audio or use the microphone.
- We do not perform a full ARP census or a root ARP dump. Silent hosts stay hidden.
- We do not scan cellular WAN or public internet hosts.
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
- Contract — providing the on-device LAN list and ads-free features you request.
- Consent — personalized ads in Lite where required (Google UMP); location / nearby-Wi-Fi permission you grant so Android can return scan results.
Retention and deletion
Scan results are shown for the current session and are not uploaded. Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage removes the local entitlement flag and interstitial cadence file. Ad partners and the Play Store may retain purchase or ad data under their own policies.
Your rights
Depending on your region you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data. Because scan results stay on the device, deletion is typically achieved by uninstalling or clearing app data. Contact vasa_serafin@hotmail.com.
