This Privacy Policy describes how NovaPulse Honest Speed (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our mobile application on Android. The App is published by Vasa Serafin.

Summary

• We do not sell your personal information.
• On-device first. Download and upload samples run from your phone to a public speed-test endpoint (speed.cloudflare.com). We do not collect those samples.
• No cloud AI or machine learning. Median Mbps is computed locally from short HTTP transfers. Peak samples are discarded, not uploaded.
• Local data stays local. History (last 20), schedule flags, and settings live in the app until you clear them or uninstall. Uninstalling removes app storage.

Information we process

• Estimate results — median download/upload Mbps, raw sample Mbps, byte counts, elapsed time, and the endpoint hostname. Shown on-screen. Not uploaded to us.
• History (ads-free / Pro) — last 20 finished estimates persist in on-device storage (honest_speed_history.txt) so they survive app kill. Chart series are derived from that file. Not uploaded to us.
• Scheduled estimates (ads-free / Pro) — if you enable the schedule, the App uses WorkManager (6 / 12 / 24 hours) and may show a local completion notification. POST_NOTIFICATIONS is requested only when you turn the schedule on. RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED is used so the schedule can be re-armed after reboot. We do not send those notices from a server.
• Captive-portal preflight — a local connectivity check runs before an estimate so a login splash page cannot inflate Mbps. The check does not send estimate results to us.
• Network access — the App uses INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE to transfer sample payloads to the public endpoint you test against and, on Lite, to load ads.
• Purchase status — Google Play confirms No Ads (INAPP com.vasaserafin.speed.noads or SUBS queried as the same id; extra SUBS com.vasaserafin.speed.noadssub). We store a local entitlement flag only.
• Advertising (Lite only) — Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data per Google’s Privacy Policy. A banner may show on every tab. A full-screen ad may show once on first open and after every 5th completed estimate. UMP consent is requested before ads.

What we do not do

• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not upload your Mbps samples, history, chart series, or schedule settings to our servers.
• We do not require a cloud account to run an estimate.
• We do not use location or microphone permissions.
• We do not operate a speed-test service of our own.
• We do not report peak marketing Mbps. The on-screen number is a median of short samples.

Legal bases (EEA/UK)

• Contract — providing speed estimates and ads-free features you request.
• Consent — personalized ads in Lite where required (Google UMP); optional scheduled-test notifications on ads-free / Pro.

Retention and deletion

Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage removes the local history file, schedule flags, and the entitlement flag. Ad partners and the Play Store may retain purchase or ad data under their own policies. The public speed-test endpoint you query (speed.cloudflare.com) may log the transfer under its own policy.

Your rights

Depending on your region you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data. Because estimate data is stored locally, deletion is typically achieved by uninstalling or clearing app data. Contact vasa_serafin@hotmail.com.
