This Privacy Policy describes how NovaPulse DNS Dig (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our mobile application on Android. The App is published by Vasa Serafin.
On-device DNS lookup. Hostnames, record types, answers, DNSSEC AD/RRSIG display, and the last-20 query log are processed on the device. We do not operate a lookup or telemetry server. Use only on names you administer or have written permission to query.
Summary
- We do not sell your personal information.
- On-device first. DNS queries run from your phone to the resolver you use (system, or Pro custom / DoH). We do not collect query results.
- No cloud AI or machine learning. Record decoding and the AD/RRSIG line are local. DNSSEC display is not a local cryptographic validator.
- Local data stays local. Query log (last 20) and settings live in the app until you clear them or uninstall. Uninstalling removes app storage.
Information we process
- Lookup configuration — the hostname, record type, and (Pro) resolver or custom DNS server you enter. Stored on-device. Not uploaded to us.
- Answers and query log — record data, TTL, resolver label, and DNSSEC AD/RRSIG summaries. Last 20 lookups persist in on-device storage so they survive app kill. Pro export stays on-device until you share the file. Not uploaded to us.
- Network access — the App uses INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE to send DNS / DoH queries for names you look up and, on Lite, to load ads.
- Purchase status — Google Play confirms No Ads (INAPP
com.vasaserafin.dnsdig.noads or SUBS com.vasaserafin.dnsdig.noadssub). Extra entitlement com.novapulse.dnsdig.pro still entitles if present. We store a local entitlement flag only.
- Advertising (Lite only) — Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data per Google’s Privacy Policy. A banner may show on the lookup screen. A full-screen ad may show once on first open and after every 5th lookup. UMP consent is requested before ads.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not upload your hostnames, answers, query log, or exports to our servers.
- We do not require a cloud account to look up records.
- We do not use location or microphone permissions.
- We do not operate a recursive DNS service of our own.
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
- Contract — providing DNS lookup and ads-free features you request.
- Consent — personalized ads in Lite where required (Google UMP).
Retention and deletion
Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage removes the local query log and the entitlement flag. Ad partners and the Play Store may retain purchase or ad data under their own policies. A file you already shared is under your control. Resolvers you query (system DNS, Cloudflare, Google, or a custom server) may log the query under their own policies.
Your rights
Depending on your region you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data. Because lookup data is stored locally, deletion is typically achieved by uninstalling or clearing app data. Contact vasa_serafin@hotmail.com.
California residents: we do not “sell” or “share” personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
