This Privacy Policy describes how Duplicate Sweep (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our mobile application on Android. The App is published by Vasa Serafin.
On-device hash scan. You pick a folder with the system folder picker (SAF). The App SHA-256 hashes files on this phone and groups exact copies. Files over 50 MB are skipped. The scan stops after 500 files. This is content-hash duplicates, not similar-looking photos. We do not operate a file-storage server. The App does not delete files unless you do.

Information we process
- Picked folder — read on-device to SHA-256 hash files and group exact copies. Not uploaded to us.
- Purchase status — Google Play confirms No Ads (INAPP
com.vasaserafin.dedup.noads or SUBS com.vasaserafin.dedup.noadssub). We store a local entitlement flag only.
- Advertising (Lite only) — Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data per Google’s Privacy Policy. A banner may show on the primary page; a full-screen ad may show on first open and after hard-coded action counts (every 5th scan). UMP consent is requested before ads.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not upload your files to our servers.
- We do not require a cloud account.
- We do not find similar-looking photos or clean cloud storage.
- We do not delete files without you.
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
- Contract — providing on-device hash scan and ads-free features you request.
- Consent — personalized ads in Lite where required (Google UMP).
Retention and deletion
Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage removes local settings. Files in the folder you picked stay where they are. Ad partners and the Play Store may retain purchase or ad data under their own policies.
Your rights
